To start with I am not exactly an Energy Star guy. If I were, I would use a cute little Mac laptop, the latest model. In fact, I use a big computer box that is still using the Windows XP operating system. That brings up an interesting question: are the newer operating systems like Windows 7 more or less energy efficient than Windows XP? In any case, I tend to do my computing on a slow basis, and I don't have enough RAM to do any fancy graphics or play any cool games. If I am just typing MS Word or Excel documents I am OK, but if I have to start working with Adobe Photoshop, Flash, etc, I could be quickly out of luck. The best thing that could be said about my office setup is that I share a printer, so I save some energy that way. But my work cubicle, really a shared long ledge is not decorated or pretty at all.
