The Environment and the Haiti Earthquake

The environment can be nasty, look at the Haiti Earthquake. Now there was a DC conference about six weeks after the earthquake, by at the US Institute for Peace. Robert Maguire, chair of the Haiti Working Group at USIP, presented a set of proposals to deal with the manifold dilemmas facing the nation, through establishing functional national sovereignty. Of Maguire's three dilemmas, his third, while not called out by its name—the legacy of British Imperial Globalization—is responsible for the deplorable conditions in Haiti, from which demographic problems and government instability have arisen. However, he chanted the usual proposals of the Market, ie the British Empire.

Reverend Streit, a founder of the Notre Dame Haiti Program has reportedly worked for 20 years to eradicate Lymphatic Filariasis (otherwise known as Elephantiasis), as well as several other infectious diseases, but, from his remarks, you might not know it. Reverend Streit was the first to reveal two deplorable propagandistic excuses, which not only suggest his definitive incompetence in something you'd suppose, after 20 years of work, he should know something about, but, which questions his moral disposition. You would expect an expert in infectious diseases, and their link with poverty, to sound the alarm before the oncoming storms of the season produce deadly water borne illnesses, right? Not quite, he said that while we are concerned about the outbreak of diarrheal diseases, stemming from close quarters and bad hygiene, we say that the media is to be rightly surprised by the resilience of the Haitian people, and this includes the health sector. What do the Haitians have magic powers?
Only LaRouche's proposal can save Haiti. In a twist of irony, Tim Sullivan, a panelist and fellow of the American Enterprise Institute, responded to Chew about LaRouche's proposal: I'm with LaRouche on this one. Even among the bureaucrats, there are some who really want to help Haiti. Now if only we can get the do-nothing President Obama out. That would really help the environment.

An Environmentalist Debate on Nuclear Power

Lately there has been a debate on Nuclear power within the environmentalist movement. This is nice, too bad the buggers have already killed nuclear power plants all over Europe and the United States. Nevertheless, if this idiocy is to be reversed, let the debate proceed. See the surprisingly rational arguments of Stewart Brand, in Nuclear Power's Time has Come. Read the other side in Mark Z. Jacobson's piece, Nuclear Power is Too Risky. Both are from the cnn.com web page.

NASA, Global Warming and the Space Program

There is more than green energy and global warming to the NASA program. We need a manned space program to the Moon and Mars. On Feb. 15, Scott Carpenter (Mercury), Gene Cernan (Gemini and Apollo), and Charlie Duke (Apollo) wrote an open letter to "Mr. & Mrs. America," to help rally opposition to
President Obama's attempt to kill NASA's manned space program. Organizer Ed Buckbee, who worked with space pioneer Wernher von Braun in Huntsville, and was the director of Alabama's Space & Rocket Center, is also a signator, and has been circulating the
letter to media in the states most affected by the proposed NASA take-down. For it to have the impact it should, every Member of Congress should see it, as should every American who will not allow the American spirit to be destroyed. Al Gore just doesn't understand.

Green Jobs or Space Jobs

The green collar jobs are not real. Space jobs are the real thing. Do we have a future, aside from whining about global warming? Overall, 11,500 people across the country are working on Constellation, including about 8,600 in industry. Many of these would otherwise face job termination, but have transitioned from the Shuttle to the Constellation program, which the Obama Administration has proposed to kill.

Briefed on this initiative, Lyndon LaRouche observed: "So, specific issues now come up as national issues." Indeed, it is going to take our national mobilization, to get out of office the future-killers and law-breakers, like Barack Obama. Time to save the nation, and create a green environment on the Moon and Mars.

Consultants Get Technology to Work Together

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Mavenlink. All opinions are 100% mine.

Hello my environmentalist and green brethren. Next time you are stringing together your data for your global warming charts, and collaborating with people over 5 different continents, think of a better way for you and your colleagues to work together. It is time to use a comprehensive technology platform to do the things that we all like to do. That is to do online projects and collaborate with other consultants and clients, while saving paper, trees, and money. This type of site helps Consultants and Clients to work together more effectively. The best part of all is that you can get a free Trial on all plans, and you are not required to give your credit card for the trial plan. So, I think that is sufficient reason to check out Mavenlink and get the collaboration going.

Even for the basic plan, you get to work 1 project, and invite unlimited participants into your project. You get to store 500 MB online for your project, so everyone gets to see what everyone else is doing. If you go on the pay plans, you can store 5 GB of data for your project as an "independent" and 20 GB of data on the business plan. The business plan includes other benefits such as posting your profiles and including 5 user accounts, benefits and insurance.

You can use this joint collaboration space online as an ideal way to work with colleagues remotely. You can use this space for contracts, lead generation, invoicing and sales, and even general business networking. The consultants or clients that you invite to the site will not be charged at all.

Bohai Bay Ice and Global Warming

With all the ice on northeast China's Bohai Bay, global warming seems to be in bad shape. This is home of the historic Port Arthur the so-called ice-free port by Darien that was a cause of war between Japan and Russia in 1905. As China celebrates its Spring Festival (Chinese New Year), there is new information on the spread of sea ice in North China waters. Remote-sensing data from the National Satellite Ocean Application Service showed that 12,719 square km, or 80 percent, of the Bohai Bay, one of the three comprising the Bohai Sea, had iced up as of January 23. Li Baohui, a State Oceanic Administration (SOA) scholar, said the sea ice was mainly the result of low temperatures and brief intervals between cold fronts.

The worst ice in four decades has caused enormous losses to marine transport, fishing, aquatic breeding, and offshore mining industries in Tianjin Municipality and several provinces located around the water body, according to Beijing Review.

About half of the Bohai Sea, a semi-enclosed inland sea the size of South Carolina, was covered by ice on January 23 as it experienced its worst freeze since 1969. Ice floes stranded ships, disrupted oil drilling and caused economic losses to marine farms, where ice blocked oxygen from reaching captive fish.

For example, Shengli Oilfield, one of China's largest, suffered severe damage by sea ice to its drilling and power-transmission facilities. More than 1,000 wells were affected. The Shandong Province fishery reports that 12,500 acres of shrimp farms in Shandong are not producing, the province's fishing ports are frozen, and more than 4,000 fishing boats are unable to go fishing due to sea ice. One aquaculture company alone suffered $44 million in losses after most of its 6 million abalones died during the freeze. Looks like we could be in for a long cold spell. Ice age anyone? Any comments from Al Gore on this global warming debate?

Green Environment and Your Tax Refund

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of eSmart Tax. All opinions are 100% mine.

Keep the environment green and get your taxes done online. There's less paperwork that way, and don't forget your tax refund. Isn't it amazing to know that you can get your taxes done for free online. Of course, as we well know there are quite a few taxes to file. In New York, we have to file federal taxes, NY state taxes and local NY City taxes. In any case, get as much of it done free as you can by going to file for free, where you can get your federal taxes filed for free. That's a pretty good start, but not necessarily the finish for your free tax filing.

If your last name happens to be Johnson, then you are even in more luck, because you can get more of your taxes filed for free at Johnsons file free. That is not a tiny category, because in the United States, slightly over 2,100,000 people have that last name. It is the second most common last name in the United States. What do you think is the most common last name in the United States? My guess would be Smith or Jones. There are quite a few with the last name Clinton, including a former President of the USA. Then there is Bell, Morgan, Black, White, Hanson, Hansen, Clark, Peters, Peterson, and so on. There are a lot of common last names, but I am not sure which is number one, and which ones are in the top ten. Darryl Johnson is the official spokesman for eSmart tax, and he does a pretty fun video, so take a look. In any case, these guys will tell you how to file your taxes for free, and only pay a small charge for paying your state taxes too. In any case, the videos of Darryl are pretty funny. In one, he listens to the devil and spends his $2,000 refund going crazy in a club. In the other one, he listens to an angel, and gives his money to his church.

Snowing and Global Warming

Like Bertrand Russell said, how do you make school children say that snow is black? It's called brainwashing. With all the snow this week in NYC, and Washington DC, the true believers are still calling for a global climate dictatorship, in Time Magazine. Get this, more snow means that we are having MORE global warming, because warming makes snow. Is the snow at least dark gray already?

Organic Food Can be Slow

It can take a long time to start a Community Garden and to get some food, especially of the greenie, organic, environmentalist variety. Communities invest in local organic farmers and their return can sometimes be organic food of all types. However, an investment today may not bring a return until next harvest, and quite possibly, may bring no tangible return at all. Growing food is hard work, and you may want to use fertilizer and pesticide. I mean, will anyone know the difference, if you do?

The payback is to shove that shovel into the beautiful soil of Mother Earth.

Solar Energy is like Sex

Did you hear the latest about solar energy? It's like sex.

You can do it about twice a week, and get energy from it for about 10 hours. After that, forget about it.

Wind power is the biggest blow job since deep throat. And this is supposed to keep the United States hot? I'll take global warming over this no power any day.

Can You Get a Green Job?

You may be able to get a green job, but is it worth it? You will have to get a lot of training to work on wind mills and solar panels and stuff. And the stuff requires huge subsidies from the Government. Maybe it would be better to work on space program stuff and nuclear power plants, even better for the environment. Global Warming may not be true, but still nuclear power is a higher energy flux density. Solar power and wind power are lower energy forms, and inherently unreliable.
