Everyone talks about "preserving the environment" but what about making the environment better. That is what it means to civilize and settle the polar regions. We have Alaska, a huge area of over 500,000 square miles and about 600,000 people. Siberia is more populated, but also in bad shape. It is time to listen to Russian rail chief Yakunin, and build the railway tunnel under the Bering Strait and connect Russia to Alaska. Due to the extreme environmental conditions of the area, a tough or even a Maglev railroad would be far better than cars and trucks.

Global Warming, Nuclear and Environment
Nuclear power is suited to developing countries,
because it is about 14 times cheaper than solar power, the ASEAN
nations were told at a public seminar on nuclear energy January
17, hosted by the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute in Quezon
City. Speaking was Dr. Sueo Machi, from the Forum for Nuclear
Cooperation in Asia, who is a former commissioner of the Japan
Atomic Energy Commission, and former deputy director of the IAEA.
Five of the ten ASEAN nations, Dr. Machi reported--Indonesia,
Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam--are moving toward
the construction of nuclear power plants, to become operational
betwwen 2015-2021.
A 1-gigawatt solar plant in Japan, he said, would need the
whole area of the Yamanote railway line (34.5 kilometers long) to
be covered by solar panels. For wind power, "you need three times
more area."

A Fun, Canadian Contest
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Dr Oetker. All opinions are 100% mine.
This contest is for Canadians only. You can enjoy a romantic environment, and eat well. Check your grocer's freezer for the product and enter the contest. This is about nice Italian food, pizza and that kind of good stuff. So enter Dr Oetker Adventure Romantica Contest and you could win a trip to Italy. How romantic!
Pizza and trips to Italy make me think of all the great things that are Italian, like Italian food, Italian wine and Italian opera. Do you remember the scene from Verdi's opera, La Traviata, when Violetta makes the toast to life and happiness. It is a bit ironic, because Violetta is actually a courtesan and lost in the great city of Paris, France. Yet, still the Italian language is so beautiful and the toast with Italian wine is so inviting. How much more fun if you could go and see La Traviata in a theater in Rome, Italy, and afterwards toast someone you love with some good Italian wine.
Back to the Romantic Contest, which ends February 15, 2010. It's all too beautiful. Even if you do not win the grand prize, as you eat the pizza, you can think of musical Italy. Think about it, my dear Canadians, you could be the winner. That is an 11 day tour of the Italian wine country and big cities. You get to take pictures, drink and eat. All you have to do is register as a savory moments member, and then you also get a bonus PIN number.
Everyone can be a winner, because there are 100,008 Instant Win Prizes. That is a pretty good chance to win. These include the Ristorante Pizza Coupon, which is worth almost $5 Canadian. There is also the Ristorante for a Year prize pack – which includes 52 free Dr. Oetker prize packs and 24 bottles of custom labeled wine. What a delicious prize! Then, how about a tour for two at a local winery. And then there is the Grand Prize, 11 delicious days in Italy. So eat, baby, eat.

Nuclear energy has not gone away, but I don't think it's a bad thing. You can think of it as green energy, or as a cure for so-called man-made global warming. The U.S. firm General Electric signed a deal with Romania's Nuclearetectrica to modernize that nation's nuclear power plants, yesterday, under which GE will provide maintenance and repair services for the turbo-generator and auxiliary equipment of Units 1 and 2 of the Cernavoda nuclear power plant (southeast of Bucharest); the value of the contract stands at a maximum of $146 million. The contract was signed for an eight-year period.
"This is an important moment for what development means, for ensuring energy security, both in terms of efficiency and safety. This cooperation between the two companies, which dates back to 1981, is a guarantee that Romania's nuclear energy generation is secure," Minister of Economy, Trade and Business Environment Adriean Videanu declared.
Nuclear energy concentrates energy production in one small place, and helps the environment. Even nuclear waste is dangerous because it is very concentrated. It is not like coal dust that goes all over the place and causes lung and breathing problems.

Promotion with Pens
Pens can be a great way to promote a company, because the information is on something useful for many months. The problem with circulating leaflets on paper is that it goes to the garbage, usually within a day, or in a week's time, maximum. So, go on, don't be ashamed to spread your message, or at least a company name, address and phone number on a fairly cheap pen. That way you will be helping the environment in a real way, by giving out something that lasts a while.
A good way of thinking as an environmentalist is for more and more dual-use technology. For example, if you use pens to promote your business, then you are advertising, while giving away something that is a useful writing instrument. Dual-use technology has had a bad reputation, with the focus on nuclear electric power plants that are also somehow involved with the potential to make nuclear weapons. However, even in the case of weapons, it is always a question of turning swords into plowshares. And in any case, the pen is mightier than the sword, in an ultimate sense. That is why, next time you put together your business' advertising campaign, it is time to think about personalized pens. Helping the environment in a real way is not easy. For example, we had everyone going hysterical about global warming, and now ice-free ports are freezing up. In Dalian, by the old Port Arthur in northern China, the Bohai bay has frozen up. Ironically, Dalian is usually an ice-free port, and a war was fought by Russia and Japan, in part because Japan desired to take this ice free port from Russian occupation. It is much better to be an environmentalist by recycling your garbage and things like that. These wild global climate theories don't work anymore, it seems, at least in respect to Carbon Dioxide so-called pollution. So use your pens, they can be mightier than the sword.

To Help the Environment, Think of the Moon
China believes that it will help the earth's environment by looking towards the moon. As China's People's Daily reports, the "Lunar Probe Project" won a special award at the National Science and Technology Awards held during the China National Science and Technology Meeting January 11. Ouyang Ziyuan, chief scientist of China's Lunar Probe Project disclosed during an interview that the resolution of the cameras mounted on the Chang'e-2 Satellite which has been scheduled to be launched this year, reached 7 meters, and even 1 meter when the satellite is closer to the Moon.
"How can we use resources on the Moon to solve the energy crisis on the Earth? This is just a topic that we are studying," Ouyang said. To date, China's "Lunar Probe Project" has determined that there is about one million tons of helium-3 on the Moon's surface that could meet mankind's energy demand. There are only a little more than 10 tons of helium-3 on the Earth. On the Moon however, as the Moon's surface is being exposed to solar radiation, solar winds can always supply the Moon with helium-3 particles and store them on the surface. Meeting China's (present) entire power demand need only consume only 8 tons of helium-3, equivalent to 220 million tons of oil or about 1 billion tons of coal. "Coal, oil, natural gas will all eventually be used up, so it is worth considering using the resources on the Moon to support development on Earth. This still remains an ideal, and nuclear fusion power generation will not be commercialized for about another 50 years." Colonize the moon and mars, and eat hydroponic food, baby!

Auto Repair and the Environment
You worry about the environment, but still you have to do your best to get to work and make appointments. Though the subway system in New York City is fantastic, I still need to use my car sometimes. Global Warming does not seem that much of a threat this year, because it is freezing as hell. In fact, I was thinking of blowing a bit of extra gas into the air with my car, but I can't afford it. Besides, riding the subway is more fun.
What is even worse than having to drive the car, is to get into an actual auto accident. Sometimes these cannot be helped, but try not to be in a rush, and only drive when you are in a calm frame of mind. Do what you have to do. Think about the cool waves of the ocean, the frigid breezes of global cooling warming and climate change, and the fight to keep your job and survive the recession. Or is the recession really the end of civilization. It is not always clear to me, but it is certainly something to thing about. If you do have an accident, you will need anautobody repair service, to tow the car into a shop, and then if the damage is not too great, to have the car fixed up and ready to drive. Still, if you can get your forms done straight, meditate a little bit and keep your peace of mind, I think you can get through this. Whether, it is a car crash, global warming, solar flare reduction and solar cooling, or a new ice age, I think we can handle it. The key is to keep repeating to yourself, I am not hysterical, I repeat, I am not hysterical.

Why is Google Freaking out Over China?
Google is freaking out over China. Despite the usual blather about human rights, and censorship, this can only be viewed as part of the concerted British imperial attack on China. Google is operating as part of the British financial empire, by threatening to get out of China. See the NY Times article on Google. This is part of what the British, London Economist magazine promised as the attack on China. Part of this is in revenge for China refusing to sign on to the fraud of Global Warming dictatorship. China refused to approve set and required reduction of burning fuels, not only for China, but for any country. It was backed by India, and covertly by Russia. This was the British Empire's big scam for a one world dictatorship, and it got creamed. Now London is doing its best to get revenge.

Green Apple Soda and the Seattle Seahawks
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Jones Soda. All opinions are 100% mine.
It's fun when commercial products get involved in charities and causes. But did you know that Jones Soda is also promoting the football team, the Seattle Seahawks? Indeed they are, with 3 delicious soda flavors-- cream soda, green apple soda, and berry lemonade soda. Even if the Seattle Seahawks are not your favorite team, there something special about this soda, with some unique football players in artwork on the box for the 4-packs of soda. Now, this gets a certain poignancy when you remember that the Seattle Seahawks did not do well in their last football season. In fact, the coach has just been fired. So when you think of drinking this soda while watching a Sunday football game, please try to keep these things in mine. Drinking a cane sugar cream soda makes one think of making your best effort, and having the football players give the cream of their hard training. Cream soda would definitely make me feel good on a Sunday afternoon watching football.
Green apples has a special touch too. Green apples can taste great, but it is because of that combination of sourness and sweetness. This can be likened to the Seattle Seahawks, who have the sweet good luck to be playing their best in pro football, but have the sourness and bitterness in knowing that they have not been doing that well this season. Berry Lemonade Soda has the same feeling, of bitterness and sweetness. That is a lot like life as well. Maybe that is why you will enjoy drinking these three sodas in this Seattle Seahawk set, especially on your Sunday afternoon watching football, along with some pretzels and potato chips too. Guess the NY Giants could get a green flavor too. It says something about the environment, but maybe make their flavor green lime soda.

At the Copenhagen Climate Conference- LaRouche
This video is great, from www.redicecreations.com . The end is nigh, join the green movement, or shall we go back to reality? Man made global warming? Do you really buy it? Great to see the video, with LaRouche people in Denmark intervening on the conference on Climate Change.

Avoid Green Energy Scams
This is a twist on the traditional energy (i.e. oil and gas) scam. The "hook" is an undeniably compelling macrotheme: the rise of solar, wind, and other alternative or renewable energy sources. The promoter convinces you that some tiny stock has a game-changing technology, a huge untapped market, or a big government contract about to fall in its lap. The idea is to get enough people excited about the stock that they'll pile in and push up the price of the thinly traded issue. This gives the perpetrators of the fraud enough liquidity to exit their position at a big profit. Hence the term "pump and dump."
FINRA provides great tips about what to look for to spot such a scam, including:
* Unsolicited communications (from snail mail to tweets, fraudsters have all media covered).
* Predictions of swift and exponential growth (a surefire 367% gain in the next two weeks!).
* No actual product on the market (but the prototype's almost ready to go).
To avoid getting duped, FINRA recommends looking at where a stock trades (i.e. a national exchange like NYSE, Nasdaq, or AMEX versus an over-the-counter market) and reading a company's financial filings. More info at seeking alpha.
CAPS players have identified big winners like Tata Motors (TTM), Bruker (BRKR), and Wonder Auto Technology (WATG) over the past year. They've also proven adept at sniffing out scams. Some skeptics worth following include UltraLong, TSIF, and Tastylunch. A new account, TMFStockSpam, has been set up exclusively to track the performance of stock spam received by Fools.
Thumbs-down on: PetroAlgae (PALG.OB), which, despite its new partnership with Foster Wheeler (FWLT), can't possibly warrant a market capitalization of $2.4 billion, and JBI Inc., which is promoting a waste plastic-to-oil process that "produces oil at less than $10 per barrel." Now why didn't Chevron (CVX) think of that?
Watch out, the greenies are out to get you, and your investment dollars. And global warming itself is a giant, non-scientific scam.

Greenies and Abortion
Part of the greenie push on the health bill is to promote abortion in the new health bill. This is part of Obama's push to limit and reduce the population. With Bart Stupak's anti-abortion amendment, this could rapidly change. After the defeat of the Copenhagen Global Warming dictatorship, anything is possible. And the Democratic party faces total disintegration, with two senior Democratic senators now not running for reelection.
