Green Pens for Pleasure

A green pen is one that you want to keep for a long time. Then you don't generate that much waste by buying new ones all the time. Cross pens are that type of pen. Admittedly they are quite expensive, but for that extra touch, they are worth it. They also take ink refills, so you don't have to buy a new body anymore. Keep cutting down on that plastic waste, in the name of environmentalism, global warming, mom and apple pie. Then you can write a nice letter, or a greenie manifesto or fantasy story. Just don't get demoralized when the green leaves turn to autumn brown.

Green Gadgets and Green Suits

Environmentalism is a funny thing. For example, a lot of lawyers are working in environmental law. For an example, check out the Environmental Law Institute and similar websites. Being a greenie used to mean being in ripped jeans and unwashed, but now it could mean being being in a suit or dress and running a big legal case about clean air and clean water. Global warming should be studied, but all points of view should be given consideration, even if they don't sell t-shirts, or panic people the way some would like.

The best part of the green spectrum that I like is green technology. That can be anything from Hydrogen Battery or Hybrid cars, to Clean Fusion power. We, the residents of planet Earth have to be optimistic in technological solutions. So let us look at wind, solar, geothermal, hydro-power, clean coal and on till Warp drives on spaceships. For if we can escape spaceship Earth, we, the human race, will truly be masters on the environment.

Movement Collection of Varier Furniture

The Movement collection is back and it is better than ever. New Designs for Comfort has quite a collection. It can give you ideas for making your home more beautiful. The environment, clean air and clean water are all important, but what about the environment that you sit in? Many students and office people spend eight hours a day or more sitting in a chair. If they are not sitting properly this could cause lots of problems for them. What makes these chairs so great is that one can sit, and still move around quite a bit. Study the picture of the chair above and more photos on the Varier website.

On the one hand, the collection has an artistic and Scandinavian look. The chairs allow adults and children to move around in a natural way, without being constrained to have a 90-degree, right-angle between their pants-seat and their back. People get variety of motion in these chairs, while still engaging in normal sitting tasks such as eating, studying, working on a computer, typing, and so on.

The Varier furniture can be very surprising. A simple curvy chair with no armrest, the Date chair, has hidden properties. First of all, it has a hidden lever that allows it to be tilted back to the level that you desire. The chair curves forward by the top of the chair-back, and then curves backwards, so there is a special place of rest and comfort for the small of one's back and lower back. This chair is comfortable for dining and for office work, but it is so comfortable that you may not want to get up, ever.

Clean Water and Environmental Law

Clean water and clean air are not just nice things to have but they are essential. Environmental Law can help enforce the need for water treatment especially at industrial sites. It does not happen by happen by magic, it is a matter of also mobilizing to build the water and other infrastructure. To have clean air and water, you need the familiar methods of the American System and the United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Now in Argentina, in a rural area called Chacras de la Merced people have clean drinking water.

According to elaw, these people had lots of problems with sewage from an industrial plant. That can cause gastrointestinal disease which is especially dangerous for children. Attprney were working on the problem from the Argentine organization called Centro de Derechos Humanos y Ambiente, and they also had scientists who did tests on the water quality. Well water in the area was in a bad way, with contaminants. The lab rsults were then shown to the appropriate law courts. Thank God, the Kirchner government, and now that of Ms. Kirchner are fairly responsive to these issues. First water was brought in by truck, and now the town has water piped in that is properly treated.

Can You See the Light- Get Eyeglasses

We want our friends and neighbors to see the light of the greenie cause, the great Gaia mother earth goddess and all that. Greenie law is helping to spread sweet wind turbine power and solar power all over the planet. But if you want to be able to see in general, you may need a new pair of eyeglasses. It's amazing that you can mail away, or order on line and get great eyeglasses for only as low as $8. That is right, $8 for a pair of single vision eyeglasses. Also available are sunglasses, bifocals and other types of glasses. Zenni can sell so cheap because they have no surface store, and a low advertising budget. It's interesting, if you look at an article in the Chicago Tribune that eyeglasses can be bought for so low, yet people often pay huge prices for eyeglasses. It's amazing that the same glasses that you can buy online for $8 or a maximum of $41 with some add-ons, can sell in a store for $178 to almost $400. So since, as we get older, Americans wear glasses, and wear them more often, this is certainly something that many people will want to save money on.

And who wants to have only one pair of glasses. A good battle plan is go to a low Optician, and get your eyes examined. Have a lens prescription written, and if possible do not buy glasses there. Eye examinations alone can be under $50. Then you can order as many pairs of eyeglasses as you need, with an accurate eye prescription. Get sunglasses, bifocals, and a variety of frames. When you lose or temporarily misplace your regular glasses, you can have 2 or 3 spare pairs that are quickly on hand, in a convenient desk drawer.

Solar Lighting for the New Age

Solar lighting for the new age, what a sunshine day dream. Many people have seen solar powered landscaping lights, and have complained that they are too dim. They can be disappointing because they do not meet the necessary power requirements. The good news is that now LED lights are on the market for landscape lights, and this means that the bulbs use much less power. If you can plug them into the electrical network it is still great. From a green ascetic standpoint, it is better if you can get it to use solar power. So you have that little solar panel on the side. That might not work everywhere, but in Southern California, and places like that, brothers and sisters you are in like Flynn.

A cute item available is the SohoDecor Grand Barcelona lights, available at amazon.com and other fine online and in-person retail establishments. It looks like a little street lamp, and is listed for only $19.99

The My Suit Experience

Hey all your Environmental Lawyers, now is your chance to look nice, at least for men. How about getting a Made to Measure suit from the My Suit Experience. You do your measuring, styling, and fabric selection, and before you know it, you will have ordered a custom-made suit. The location and hours are: 1270 Broadway (@33rd Street, New York, NY 10001, Phone Numbers: 212-594-0077 tel 212-594-0156 fax, Email: info@mysuitny.com . And the Store Hours are: Monday to Friday 10am - 8pm, Saturday 10am - 7pm, and Sunday 12pm - 6pm. Suites starting at $495.

My Suit is located in a beautiful street level store, with the motto: You don't need a gym, you need a great suit. It's wonderful that this store and service are available right here in my hometown, New York City, the Big Apple. I live in the Bronx, but just a short ride, less than an hour on the #1 train will take me to the 34th Street stop and a block or so walk to this fine, MySuit Store. I highly suggest that you go to their website and make an appointment.

Styling can involve many elements. You can choose whether you want a single button jacket, a double breasted jacket or two to 4 button styles. Your lapels can be varied as well as the vents, the pockets, the stiching and whether to have a vest or not. Pants can have a flat front, a single pleat or a double pleat. Many features of the pants can be selected including whether to have a coin pocket, and what type of other pockets to have. You can even choose the belt loops. With this type of custom service available, why settle for less, with an off-the-rack suit that does not have all the options that you want. Of course you also get to choose the suit fabric and color. This is such a civilized way to get what you want in a suit.

Also note that measuring is a complex process in a form-fitting suit. Up to 30 measurements can be taken, that is why you need an in-person appointment, not just to get some measurements over the internent and hope that the measurements are any where near what they should be.

Environmental Law

Environmental law can be quite complicated. Websites such as elaw.org go into many details on a regular basis, from the number of new wind power turbines demanded in each state, to issues of industrial pollution. Clean air and clean water can be subjective terms, because sometimes there is overwhelming pollution that is obvious, other times it is just a borderline concern. Natural phenomenon can cause pollution to, from red algae on the ocean shore, to volcanic ash and lava, and many other natural phenomenon. Determining the source of pollution is not easy in many cases.

Now that the United States has a big set of environmental laws, many developing countries are also adopting environmental law. In Asia, the nation of Malaysia is becoming more concern about cleaning up mining pits. Russia has been working with ELaw and other organizations, to improve the protection of its citizens from toxic pollution.

Charter Cable, and a Green Car Sweepstakes

Charter Cable TV is available in most areas, and you can get internet phone, high speed internet and cable TV for only $99, It's really neat, and now you can also enter a sweepstakes, with no purchase necessary. You can win a 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid, that can get 45 miles per gallon. The car has a bright metallic "shed" polish and a fabric interior. It has a USB Audio Interface, for the most advanced delivery of a sound system through different digital storage methods. This car is at least a $24,000 value, and if you win it, you know that you are getting the best miles per gallon that you possibly can, to save the planet, and to bring down your carbon count.

So Charter is the way to go, you could win a green global warming saving car, and save on telephone, hi-speed internet and cable TV too. One warning is that Charter Cable covers a lot of areas, but not all areas, and you have to within one of the areas that they cover to be eligible for the sweepstakes.

With Charter Cable, you get access to lots of stations and hundreds of movies that you can watch. You get Showtime and Cinemax stations, and also access to over 45 stations of digital music. Charter High Speed Internet is really fast and great, you don't have to get stuck on the scenic route on the digital highway. The high speed max internet has speeds up to 16mbps. Telephone service means saving up to 20-percent and also unlimited calling in the United States. You get popular things like call waiting and caller ID. A Good deal for sure.

Greenie Gadget Pleasure time

Yes, it's greenie gadget pleasure time again. No, this is not about green vibrators and what not, but it is about eco-heaters.

These heaters claim to be far more efficient, literally 4 to 5 times more efficient than regular electric heaters. Is that possible?

I kind of suspect, that this device would have to be violating the laws of entropy and thermodynamics to be more efficient than a normal electric heater. Perhaps I'm missing something. An evergreen heater is something to check out in any case. Can't get any more info on the web on this product. Anyone else know anything?

Insight Hybrid is Out of Sight

The New Insight Honda Hybrid is out of site, being made in the United States, and having a Manufacturers Sticker Price of only $19,000.

The new Honda Insight, will be available in April, and will be aiming for sales of 100,000 just in N. Amer. This car is not a tiny thing like the old Insight, it is a five door hatch backer with the capacity of 5 people. It looks a lot like a Toyoto Prius, but it is a lot cheaper, and of course it gets really great gas milegage.

Ironically, reports are that the discontinued 2002 Insight, was a really great car too, though a bit experimental, it gets over 50 Mpg combined. Now if we only still have a world economy to drive around in too.

Electric Windmills and other Green Gadgets

Sunshine Superman (Donovan spoof song)

Making your own electricity, baby;
What a groovy scene;
Soon you'll fly with your own wings, baby;
You know what I mean;
The laws of physics, darling, are such a drag;
That's why I became a greenie,
It's a wild and crazy bag;
Just remember that you can do magic without snag;
I tell you right now,
Reality, is just for all those silly wimps.

Article:

What can an electricity windmill do for the planet? Well it can make your life real groovy. Some people say these devices are very inexpensive and you get a good deal.
The money it can save may be real, who knows? After getting your electricity
windmill up and running, don't be surprised if you become a sunshine superman.
Try this duelly windmill. Here's a handheld windmill.

Or try the homemade power plant.

Energy Efficient Auto Air Conditioning

You need to have your auto air conditioning working and ready. True, in the northern United States it's getting cold, but it's still hot in the sunbelt in the South, and it will be hot again by next May and June. Getting your auto air compressor into gear is key, otherwise you'll be wasting a lot of gas and not even getting cool. Discount A/C parts offers auto ac parts that were previously only available to automobile dealers. They have many brands including BMW or Mercedes Air Compressor. You can get a lot of attention from the Pacific Standard times of Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. So come out of your green daydream and get this. Keep it energy efficient with new parts.

The goods that they sell are both new and remanufactured. This is not stuff reclaimed from the junk yard. So get into the groove discount ac parts and get your air conditioning going. Air Conditioning can get pretty complicated since you still have old cars running around with the good/bad stuff known as freon. It's good, because it can really give you some icy air conditioning, even with a small a/c compressor. It's bad because it got banned under the Montreal Protocols, for reasons that no one can even remember anymore. All ac compressors come with a full warranty and free shipping.

Recycle My Computer Nerds

There's a lot of stuff to recycle from the computer industry, and it has definitely caught the attention of green entrepreneurs. I was down at the Per Scholas place in the South Bronx, NY. Yes, rappers and head bangers, in the South South Bronx! NY, the home of hiphop. Anyway they are recycling hundreds of computers from the Federal Reserve and other financial places. There will probably be a lot more to recycle now that financial places are going broke and shutting down.

So, this is a good effort, but other geeks and freaks have seen the light with the Motherboards that can by recycled from computers that are really falling apart.
A three ring binder in circuit boards of different colors, does that turn you on, or blow your circuits? Check out the pictures of the motherboard items.
Many different colors and weird designs. In greenie colors, to calm your global warming madness, it's gonna bring you sadness. (Neil Young said)

Motherboards can be turned into the toasters with the mosters, to lay your summer booze drinks on and not stain the table. Clocks out of mother boards are cool too.

Turbochargers for some Greenie Thrills

Turbochargers are a lot of fun. When you get tired of saving energy in your Toyota Prius or VW Rabbit, it is time to bring out the turbochargers. Volkswagen has many fuel efficient cars and you can get a vw turbo to get that rush of power. The way that a turbo charger works is through forced air induction. You get more compressed air into the engine. That way, the engine is able to produce more power for obviously, a bit more gasoline, at least we hope.

A supercharger get power from the belt, like a water pump, while a turbo charger gets its power from the exhaust stream of the car. The turbo charger is therefore, at least from a theoretical standpoint, at a higher efficiency, since it is running off of waste power, the exhaust stream. It can have problems with back pressure, and runs best at high engine RPMs. Superchargers are more expensive, more energy using, but are also easier to install and work better at lower RPM. My friends say that turbocharger.com offers the best turbochargers and superchargers for Audis and Volkswagens (VWs), at the best prices.

The McCain vs. Obama Debate and Green things

The Obama- McCain debate touched green issues, but also some fundamental issues of science. On the positive side, both Obama and McCain seem to put new military adventures in Iran and Pakistan on the back burner. They are having a big enough adventure talking about the biggest economic and financial collapse since the 14th century and the Bubonic plague.

Obama was more into alternative energy, such as the TB Pickens plan for wind and solar energy, including big wind farms in Texas. McCain's approach to include nuclear energy, although making many global warming advocates and greenies uneasy, is necessary, in order to have some real backstop power. Even in windy Denmark, home of 20-percent potential wind power, on the windy North Sea in Europe, the coal plants have kept open there for the days when the wind is not blowing. All in all, it seems that fundamental issues of policies, like LaRouche's idea of an economic reorganization, and a new Bretton Woods agreement, are coming to the fore.

Payday Loans for your Greenie Projects

Short-term loans are great things to get. It's great that Pay Day Loans are here to help you get the greenie stuff you need to stop global warming in your life. You may need a quick down payment on a hybrid Toyota Prius. Or even to set up a wind power generator or a solar heating system. Now you don't have to have a credit card in order to get that jolt of cash for the benefit of Mother Earth, with your Bad Credit Payday Loans. You can get cash even with your grimy job as a janitor, maintenance worker or a dirty auto mechanic. As long as you have a paycheck, you can get some Pay Day Loans. Just like Banks have to get overnight or over a week or two loans, it can be expected that an individual can and needs to get some of these loans sometimes. That way, you can buy those storm windows for winter that is coming on now, and you can insulate your home or apartment properly for the coming cold weather. Try these short-term loans and may Al Gore and Mother Gaia bless you and keep you.

Green Cars- Is it worth it?

Green cars are a nice idea, but is it worth it? You usually end up with a tiny car, and you can't put much stuff in it. And if you (the man of the house) have a wife and two children, things can get squeezed up fast. Toyota does have the little cars, the Prius and the Echo, which are good for one or two people commuting, and with a squeeze can accomodate a bit more. A Prius is not cheap, maybe $20,000 even a recent used model, but this is probably the biggest production number in the world of hybrid cars. The Echo is not made since 2005, so that is strictly used car stuff. Try to get a Toyota certified model, you don't want to end up with a Rita or Katrina salvage model from flood waters. Honda Civic Hybrid is also a nice car, available even in a (gasp) hybrid, 37 miles a gallon, for 20 Gs or less. Chevy Prizms are cheap, and they are really a Toyota in disguise, at 32 mpg. Think used car, since the model was discontinued in 2002, last production year.
